Tamilnadu Elections

The Elections are here and the people will vote for or vote out by exercising their votes!  The political parties are vying with each other in announcing freebies and incentives.  Some of them, in order to attract large crowd, bring in film stars to campaign with their leaders.  It was very amusing and funny to watch Bhagyaraj canvassing for a particular candidate from the ruling party where the candidate was standing with his palms stuck to each other and with a pasted smile extending from this side of the jaw to the other without even uttering a word as to what he proposes to do once he gets elected or his agenda for serving the people of his constituency!!  All the while the film star kept on talking without realising that he has been hired to do this job once in 5 years and after the elections are over, he will be lost in the dins!  It is a pity to see actor Khushboo lashing out at Jayalalitha who was instrumental in giving her life after her death in the film industry by inviting her to do the anchor role in "Jackpot" in Jaya TV.  How people forget the ladder on which they climb to glory?

Looking at the mass appeal and the first choice of people in cricket, the political leaders will do well if they bring in cricketers to canvass for their party as they seem to be more attractive and popular than the tinsel world of cinema!!  Imagine, Sachin coming to bat for DMK and Dhoni for the AIADMK and Yuvraj, Raina chipping in for PMK, DMDK and so on...  It seems there were no takers for cinema yesterday and all the halls were almost empty.  The roads looked deserted and so was the famous Marina Beach!!  Reports say that the political meetings were also cancelled in many places all over Tamilnadu fearing difference in attitude of people!  The political parties must seriously consider this action to better their image and crowd pulling ability.  Further, the political parties can also announce free cricket kits for all the households to encourage future national level cricketers in the present generation!!

The proposition may kindle some humour but when taken seriously, these popular cricketers could bring in a change in the political system as they are the present day Gods of our own Country!!!!
