shame on Chennai governance

There was utter chaos everywhere in the city and the traffic system failed and had gone haywire.  This day being the 103 rd Birth day celebrations of Muthuramalinga Thevar, all the political parties had to flex their muscles and bring thousands of so called party men from all over in all kinds of moving transport which added to the sorrows of the traffic police who were just unable to control any of them.  Deepavali is around the corner and being Saturday, there is unusual crowd everywhere in shopping areas all over the city.  The traffic police should have understood this basics and outlines traffic regulations to control and discipline traffic all over the city.  I had to travel a distance of 10 kms to reach my work place in T Nagar and it took nearly 2 1/2 hours to reach.  All that I could see blocked, choked roads and congestion everywhere! What a waste of time , energy and manpower?

At a time, when fuel prices are spiralling and making itself out of reach of a common man, this traffic hold up and    burning UN-productive fuel is unwarranted and totally not justified! The Government must act and stop holding public to ransom by political parties racing to garland a community leader who is dead long time back and does not find any place in the hearts and minds of the younger generations!  Is there not a competent authority or a judiciary who can reprimand the governance and come to the rescue of the public?  Why can't the Apex court issue an order to shift all the statues of political leaders from within the city to the outskirts so that life in the city can go on with its usual tensions?

Remove Neck Tie from the School Uniforms

The recent studies by the World Health Organisation reveals that Tie is the silent source of serious infections and could be a potential transmitter of health related problems as they are never washed or dry-cleaned periodically. The hospitals and clinics in Chennai have already issued notices to the practicing doctors not to wear Ties as they  fear that it may be an active carrier of infections!  The same principles will hold good for all those school children who are compelled to wear Neck-Ties to go well with the uniforms prescribed.  This system is an ancient British colonial system which has been discarded by the British themselves!  The Indian Education Ministry should take cognisance of the matter and the imminent danger that the school children are exposed to by wearing Ties. The Health Ministry should take a positive step in addressing this issue which could snowball into a larger issue if not checked in time?

political advice to Thackery's-an imaginative satire!

Shiv Sena has been a strong political party in Maharashtra since the past several years sometimes on the hot seat of running the State and some times dropped like a hot potato by the people off Maharashtra.for their failures to run the State effectively.  Their worry has further increased with Raj Thakrey, the nephew of the Shiv-sena chief floating his own political party and challenging his own cousin Udhav Thackrey who was given the mantle to run the party by the ageing and ailing Shiv-Sena Chief Bala saheb.

I am appending just a wild imagination and a piece of imaginatory advice to the Sena Chief  as to how to tackle this competition  to capture power in the state of Maharashtra, I would blindly ask them to follow the principles of DMK in Tamil Nadu headed by the grand old patriarch Mr M Karuna Nidhi who is  greater than world Chess champion in  Vishwanathan Anand or Kasparov in making stunning moves!  The political moves that the octogenarian leader makes has no parallel and the opposition leaders are helpless and often hapless to counter the moves powered by the DMK patriarch!

First of all, Bala saheb should float his own TV Channel in which there should be continuous display or telecast of achievements made in Maharashtra on all fronts during the Sena rule( should be blown out of proportions)!  Conquer the filmdom slowly by promoting kith and kins to capture the entire Hindi cinema as they have done in Tamil Nadu.  Tamil nadu film industry is practically controlled by the family members of the ruling family.  If only the entire Bollywood is controlled by Sena's kins, the entire film industry will be at the beck and command of Bala saheb and Udhav Thackrey!  This way, Sena can also have the advantage of star studded campaign for all their elections and attract the crowd and convert them into  votes!

Once the Sena comes to power, with the help of muscle power and money power they can ease out all other media channels from the scene and take over many other channels?  Thus, the people will be at the mercy of Sena for their entire entertainment programme. For that matter,  all Indians are hungry for entertainment of any sort and would forgo their food and the job if the entertainment is related to filmdom and its personalities! Side by side, if Bala saheb can pressurise some of the dailies to sell their stake to the kith and kins of Sena, they will have a good control of the publishing media as well and can control and feed only those news which are advantageous to the chief and his family.

Bala saheb must also introduce many of his own family members to the party so that the majority of the ministers and the MPs can be from within the house and this way the entire family tree will be well looked after!

The day is not far off when sena will be dictating terms to the centre and also arm twist the centre to give away important  portfolios such as Finance(so that no one from the family is raided or even asked about the source  of income), telecoms which is the main Nuclear generator of money for the entire life, spanning several generations!  The ministry of shipping and highways would be yet another money spinner to feed through some ancillary channel.  The agriculture ministry would not only gift the Sena huge pipelines for money flow but also entitle one of the family members to hold the important post of the BCCI in India and control ICC sitting in Mumbai.  BCCI is a body which can fund many 5 year plans of the country and is plush with billions of dollars as assets and cash!

Sometimes, depending upon the moods of the chief and his pupils, some developmental works for the befit of public could also be undertaken so that they vote them back to power in the next elections!  Just before the elections, Sena can announce free gas stoves, T V sets, bi-cycles for all those below the poverty line, free cinema tickets for families whose numbers exceed 6 etc.. etc..

If only this advice is taken in true spirits and letters, no power can stop you from making it to the throne for the next 5 years in a state where Mahalakshmi resides!!

Endhiran- the Robot

Endhiran

Our brilliant director Shankar who directed the film endhiran in Tamil and dubbed the same in Hindi as Robot thought why not create a plot that would beat the Hollywood directors? The Hollywood gave us Species and Aliens that were futuristic and what could be more appealing thought our Indian director Shankar who made mosquitoes speak in Tamil and probably in Hindi in the dubbed version of Robot!! The Aliens and Species were Science fiction whereas Endhiran- the Robot remains a mental friction!!Nothing could be so stupid as this plot where the Robot Rajinikanth speaks to the mosquitoes and threatens to destroy their entire clan if the mosquito who sucked the blood from the hands of the Heroine Aishwarya Rai- the world beauty, did not come forward to apologise! The entire audience barring some ardent fans of the super star were dumb and felt so stupid to have come for a film that is directed by none other than Shankar- one of the most brilliant directors that Tamil films had!!  The plot must have been promoted by the producers of the movie who find such stupid and unimaginable sequences as fancy to attract the Tamil crowd!  The earlier films of Rajnikanth had similar snake scenes which thrilled the same  audience!  This film will not find any place in Bollywood where standards are much higher, any day?

The super star has become so old and without his mustache,  he looks like the yest er year super star of Telugu films and the former chief minister of Andha Pradesh Sri N T Rama Rao and many would agree to this new parallel drawn?

The entire film has only 5 characters and there is only one out door sequence filmed and it is hard to believe that the film costs Rs 150 crores!  Ideally, the late Pandari bhai would have matched and perfected the role of the heroine instead of Aishwarya Rai who is certainly a luxury as far as the film is concerned!

The music is very average and has no relevance to any of the scenes and appears as though it has been induced deliberately between scenes.  It is time that Rajni, the super star realised his wrinkles on the face and the body that stands aged and drops his claim to lower levels of projections.  The producers would do well if they drop the scenes of mosquito encounter and save themselves from facing harassment from the world over!!!

Most of the audience vowed not to get attracted any more to either Shankar-the director or Rajni- the super star!!!!

Stock Markets- behaviour

New Delhi was to host the Commonwealth Games.  How to tell the International Community that India is a safe place not only for the games but also for investing?  The Stock market operating in the commercial capital in Mumbai came to the rescue of the Indian Government by showing continuous climbing of Sensex and the index reflecting the growth of the country and its economy which, according to me is nothing but manipulation by a few big weights who could move the sensex as per their whims and fancies!  The Games are over now and so is the stock market which is crumbling down every day!! The inflation is touching a high of 8.25% as per today's News papers.  All the big hues and cries about India being insulated from the world recession etc.. are proving to be false as it seems that India will join the world in the pool of recession.  My only worry is that having spent more than what the country could afford for organising the Commonwealth Games, the country should not head towards depression!!  Hope the stalwarts managing the Finance of the country will act in time and take appropriate measures to put back the country on its rail?
