Mamta and her English!

Mamta Banerjee the Railway Minister of India is presenting her Railway budget which is hillarious!  The minister is forcing herself to speak in English which seems to be tougher than Spanish or Italian or Sanskrit to understand!

You can spot Members of parliament laugh and giggle while she is presenting the budget in English.  I am sure that even she will not be understanding what she is speaking as she is just reading out the budget and announcements from papers in front of her.

The question is is it necessary for her to speak in English which is so funny rather than sticking to Hindi, the National language?

Rising of Maoists in India

The brutal killing of 24 Para Military personnel by the Maoists in W Bengal is condemnable by one and all.

The Home Minister is calling upon the sympathisers of Maoists to speak up! Whom he is exactly referring to and if he is sure of what he is talking, why is not coming out with specific names who support the Maoists?  As a Minister of Home affairs, P C has all rights to question and take to task all those who support the Maoists and their culture?

If the government wants to conduct the common wealth games and the Hockey world cup without problems, action must be taken by the Home Ministry to prove to the world that all those who indulge in violence will not be allowed to let go and will be punished.  The Pune Bomb blast has added some kind of fear not only amongst the international community but also amongst the locals who are never sure of their existence tomorrow.

Its time the government wakes up and deals the situation with an iron hand.

Save the tiger!?

With one tiger we protect about a 100 sq. km of forest

There is a big hue and cry from the Government agencies that India is left only with 1411 tigers and its time to protect and save them?  Film stars are appearing on the Television screen and voicing their concern about the diminishing population of the Tigers, the national animal of our country!  After 10 years, I am sure, there will be advertisements on the media and its channels that the population is only 100 and its time to protect them and  the coming generations will see them only in their books of study!

These advertisements and appeals by the film stars are not going to bring about a change in protecting the wild life from going into extinct. The need of the hour is the Centre should take the state governments into confidence and appoint teams consisting of village panchayat leaders who live in the surrounding of the jungle or forest areas where the tigers belong to, educate them about protecting the wild life and the dense forests for our future generations to exist and persuade them to prevail upon the local hunters to give up wild life hunting for a few extra income.  This extra income can be compensated by the government directly to the uneducated hunters through the village panchayats. All the political parties should jointly will for the success of this programme like in the case of NREGA which is seen as the most successful programme ever introduced by any political party in our country so far to have generated employment amongst the masses!  The problem of vanishing wild life an be addressed only if the government looks into the roots of the problem and not by forcing galaxy of stars to appear on the Television and asking them to take oath for protection of wild life which seems to be a joke as no one who watches the Television programmes are considered "Educated" and no Educated person would go into the jungles and gun down wild life for any strange reason?  The money spent on such unproductive advertisements could well be channelled to uplift the lives of those who are directly involved and engaged in elimination of wild life!?

get angry-save country!

It was on News channels today! One of the IGPs serving in Indore,  a northern state of India has advised his jawans to learn and  emulate Ajmal Kasab about handling weapons. Probably  what he meant was that the jawans should be as fit as Kasab.  In short, the jawans should be able to handle many situations at any given point of time with ease!

The anger with which Kasab was caught alive and brought to the Mumbai jail  for standing trial is slowly getting doused with passage of time and people taking compassionate view of the entire episode which has entered the books of history by now.  The delay in investigation and justice would only attract compassion and will hinder the judicial process that is under way.  The amount of money that the government is spending on security for this traitor is unimaginable and probably can fund a five year plan of the government.  The heavy security cover provided for this terrorist can easily over take the cover provided for a central minister!  what a sheer waste of time and money and human hours?

The terrorist in  Kasab who admitted having unleashed this terror has changed his tune and claims innocence now?  He is also asking for defense lawyers from across the border to defend him.  May be our government will provide him that facility too!!

Kasab should have been hanged publicly or allowed to face bullets from none other than the Mumbai police force immediately when the Pakistan government  disowned him and even said that he was not a pakistani national.  The unnecessary delay in framing him through the legal process has now made him a Hero of sorts and is being cited as an example even in the Police force!!

We can expect some Muslim organisations to jump into  politics and start defending Kasab even if the court awards him the death penalty as in the case of the terrorist who is languishing in prison despite a death sentence awarded to him for his attack on the Parliament.  Our government is unable to execute the sentences awarded for one reason or the other as it would have some political snow-balling effect on its survival itself?

In chennai , the ruling government has taken a stand to release Nalini who is accused of Rajiv Gandhi's assassination as she has served 19 years in prison.  Human memory is short and the heart gathers sympathy for even the worst enemies with passage of time!  Kasab will also place himself in this plain of ineffective governance and continue to live like a prince despite being labelled a Criminal and a Terrorist!

This poses one serious question. Will Indians ever get angry and send them(the enemies) a warning that we will not hesitate to give the worst capital punishment or a  death sentence for any one who dares to think or  harm our mighty Nation by any means?

Its time that we we sideline the ideologies of the father of the nation in tune with changing times and show the world that we love our country?
